Silent Scars is Rick Camp. His songs give voice to wounds that do not always show — plainspoken storytelling and hard-earned hope for anyone fighting through invisible battles. The scars began with his service in the Gulf War; the life after it — survival, illness, family, and the long road back toward light — is what shaped him and the songs. One foot, then another, still climbing.

Silent Scars is Rick Camp: direct storytelling and recurring images of deserts, valleys, mountains, sparks, and sunrise, turning private battles into shared songs. The music is about what happens after the uniform comes off — invisible wounds, serious illness, broken trust, family, endurance, and the difficult work of becoming whole without pretending the damage never happened — and it is for anyone who knows that road, in or out of uniform. The uniform was the Army’s: a Gulf War reservist called to active duty and sent to Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and Kuwait, whose scars began there and whose life afterward shaped the songs. The project is not built around medals, mythology, or easy slogans. The message is not that pain disappears. It is that pain does not get the final word — and that survival can become a hand extended to somebody still climbing.
